Ghostly International passed on this really cool video piece by James P. Morse that documents a day in the life of Deastro, a Ghostly artist. Also, if you didn’t already know, Ghostly International is coming up on it’s 10th anniversary and with that comes an insane poster via ISO50. Respect.

Deastro’s full-band debut, Moondagger, arrives on June 23rd, and his “Vermillion Plaza” single — along with its B-side, a squelchy, lumbering remix by Ghostly Swim featured artist Mux Mool — drops May 12th on Ghostly International.

Just got the hook-up on Steve Gerard’s new Bugle Boy EP that’s out right now on Idiot House Records. If you’re in the market for some bass-heavy tunage, then you’re going to want to DL “I’m Yo Pusha Man” immedietly. The track boasts a ferocious bass-line that wreaks havoc from start to finish, not to mention an effective use of vocal sampling; not to over-bearing, not too subtle, but just right. The other track that I really liked off the release was “Ice Chamber”, it doesn’t have the bounce that Pusha Man has but it lives in a groove all it’s own. It also carries a rather sophisticated Tech House tone that borders the edge of Minimal, do yourself a favor and pick up the whole album.

Earlier this year a gentleman by the name of Joseph Scott came forth with some of the best atmospheric tunes I had ever heard. Well, as a “thank you” for previous support, he’s passed on a remix of Bat For Lashes’ “Pearl’s Dream” that he so fittingly dubbed as his “Blossom and Surrender Remix”. Love that underlying sadness…

Wildlife is a Brooklyn-based electronic trio with a penchant for tight analogue riffs. From start to finish “Nature” has a sort of cool, Summer’s night kind of feel and at the moment I’m finding it difficult to turn the “repeat” button off. This is one of those jams that makes it hard to play something after because the vibe is so strong. Their International Girl EP is set to drop sometime this summer with Fall tour dates to follow. I’d link you to a Myspace but sadly I can’t find theirs.

Awww, Who’s there? The chorus of this track has been in my head since I first heard Andy George and Jaymo play it on BBC radio one. At first it was super hush hush who made the track but now it’s known that it’s from the genius minds of Riton and Primary 1. You can pick up the release on Beatport via Erol Alkan’s label Phantasy Sounds. Be on the lookout for some heavy duty remixes from some high profile names.

Hot damn! Vancouver’s Laberge has to be living in the wrong city because he’s making filter house that could’ve very well come from France or even Chicago. His latest track “Before You Know” could easily be released on Daft Punk’s record label’s Roule or Crydamoure. Laberge’s tracks give you that feel-good feeling with the sweet disco samples placed over a fresh house beat. You can’t help but want to dance and have a good time. It’s full on disco goodness!

“Party Time” is just a straight up hilarious track from F.L.Y. (Fast Life Yungstaz) who you might know from their other single “Swag Surfing”. Both tracks are on their upcoming album Jamboree, which just dropped on June 23rd.  The whole thing is a crunkish southern rap treat with each track just as fun as “Party Time”. It also provides a nice soundtrack to those blunt smoking sessions with your crew. “Party Time” is definitely the anthem though, especially with lyrics like this:

Well, this single seems to have a never ending string of remixes, but it’s cool because they’re all really, really good. This one come from Only Children, an artist, DJ, production and design collective comprised of members Chris Baronner (Bald E. / Life During Wartime), Dino Balocchi (Dinoscopy), Jesse Hozeny (Mister Wolf) and Mcrae Reed (grayarea). This Only Children number will surely put an extra funky hop into your step.

When listening to this song you might think to yourself ‘Hey, did Afrojack steal the drums from Pon Di Floor?’. No, he didn’t. As some of you may know, Afrojack and Diplo worked on a song together called ‘How I Like It’ that, within it, contained the drop and the drums for “Pon Di Floor” (the more you know..). Anyways, check out the remix the Dutchman did of his fellow countrymen Silvio Ecomo & Chuckie’s track, it makes me happy inside.
