(DJ AM (as Daft Punk), Justice, Deadmau5 via Caesar Sebastian)
I just want to say that my newly found hatred for HARD events was NOT derived from the quality of music, it was from the level of organization, or lack there of, of the “festival”. I really don’t want to type out the entire story, so I’ll execute this hypothesis the best way I know how: bullet points.
Why I will never go to another HARD event:
• They employed some of the dumbest people I have ever encountered
• Employees answer to everything was “I don’t know” or “Go around the block”
• The VIP was a joke (no special entrance line and a tiny ass bar manned by 2 bartenders)
• The VIP bar had a limit of 1 drink per person, per visit (the line(s) were huge)
• The VIP bracelet booth was a small, un-marked table manned by two older women (wtf)
• The lack of photo/ camera policy (after 2 hours of waiting we finally got in, only to be told that my friends camera [a 1975 Contax RTS] was “too professional” and was forced to put it back in his car. this led to us being out of the “festival” for another hour)
• We were in line(s) for 3 hours (with VIP tickets, mind you)
• Candy ravers (what is your purpose of being?)
Why I didn’t kill somebody:
• Justice, Boys Noize, DJ AM dressing up as Daft Punk (more on that), Soulwax, Crookers
• Bingo Players – Get Up (Diplo Remix)(video)
• The girls (to all the LA girls: <3 you)
I think that about wraps it up. On a positive note, if it weren’t for Smash Disco, Mason, Nick, and Adan, the weekend would have been a complete bust. Thanks to Mr. Gaspar and Big Nasty for having me out to play and thanks to Mason for putting Adan and I up for the weekend, it was all much appreciated! Lastly, as you all know, today is the last day to vote, so… VOTE and then come check us out at Debonair for Blog Wars: A New Hope, an election day style party!

The DJs and music were solid, but HARD needs to figure out how to manage their capacity crowds better, as well as treat their “VIP’s” like VIP’s.
VIP tickets cost $130 and what did I get out of it? 2 Beers. Great…

2 beers, a wristband, the chance to hang out with raver vips.

As soon as I saw this event being posted around my first thought was this was a 2K8 version of Baltimore’s Ultraworld raves that I went to around 1999. Seems from your review I was spot on. There are even candy ravers haha!
(Well, at least there were some cool acts)

word to that.. “vip” was a joke. also, the justice set sucked nuts, imho. at least i didn’t pay $300 on clist for tix (should have sold mine..)

pretty sure you are all missing the point that most of you were something of a candy raver at one point And if the younger kids don’t come out and don’t express them selves, then we have lost the battle to hip hop. Remember your past and help them with good events and Badass music and the respect you had for the djs and they had for their fans.
and VIP i mean cmon who the hell buys a VIP ticket at a festival? i mean the whole point is that you dont PAY for a vip and if your silly enough to waste your money, your kina just helping pay for the DJS which is totally fine in my book.

i never have been/ never will be a piece of shit candy raver. you probably used to be one, which is why you hold the loser lifestyle so close to your heart.
i pay for vip because i dont want to be in a crowd full of dumb ass kids popping pills and cumming over a pair of glow sticks. i hope you realize how dumb you sound defending kids like that.
sorry if ive offended you, but i dont really care. go fuck yourself. :)!!!!
