Alright, I’m in Chill-Ville right now and that’s not to be confused with Chill-Town; totally different. Chill-Ville is the stop after the initial “chill” period after a dramatic experience, IE: the blog close to death.
Anyway, I got some stuff in my inbox today that’s been fitting the mold of what I’ve been into lately. Lately I’ve been listening to Ra Ra Riot, Phoenix, Air France, Weird Tapes, Private, etc. As for the inbox love, lets just take it from the top.
1. Division Kent, aka the Swiss New-Wave duo that we all know and love, got a nice fixer-upper by Baxter Beez and Ben&Chic of France. The remix of “No Kyrptonite” is in promotion for Baxter’s new Barquette EP and about wraps up what I know about Baxter.
2. Up next is “Tom Petty”, an original track by the Dallas producer, LehtMoJoe. I don’t know much about him other than the fact that he’s got a CD coming out, check his Myspace for more information.
3. South Central and their semi-chill/ feel-good track, “Aeon”. This track isn’t 100% chill, but the feel-good vibes make up for any points that may have been lost due to lack of chillness. They’ll will be on tour with Does It Offend You, Yeah? in the UK as well as dropping their new album The Owl of Minerva in the US in early December.
4. Last but not least is The Spinto Band. I’ve been a fan of these guys ever since I heard Them Jeans‘ mash-up of “Oh Mandy”/ “Throw Some D’s”. For real, that shit was sick. Spinto have a new album coming out in October called Moonwink, I’d suggest picking that guy up for epic amounts of chillacious goodness.
More Ultra/ Semi/ Totally chill tracks that I have 100% permission to post:
Division Kent – No Kryptonite (Baxter Beez vs Ben&chico Remix)
LehtMoJoe – Tom Petty
South Central – Aeon
The Spinto Band – Pumpkins And Paisley
