Haha, Outlaws are funny. They sent me their Edit of The Chemical Brothers mix of Oasis’s “Falling Down”, you got all that? So yeah, lets get right into it, heres a snippet of the email and the track:
“So, there’s this new Chemical Brothers remix of Oasis. It’s pretty awesome really. There’s one BIG problem with it though. Noel Gallagher singing. Enough to ruin any rave. FACT… The re-edit is basically the Chemical Brothers mix with all the Noel chopped out and some more bits put in to make it easier to mix and more fun to dance to.”
Well said!

Noel Gallagher would be less of a sad muppet if he had been involved in anything truly awesome after about 1996 or 1997.
As it is, he’s just a big mouth the NME goes to when they want an inflammatory comment to sell ads.
Jay-Z had a pretty great response to Noel shooting his mouth off about his headlining spot at Glastonbury this year: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mrDIOVXx-y8

Oh. And the intro thing Jay-Z played before walking out on stage makes it more priceless: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8rUbOt62ug

Noel Gallagher is great. What’s sad is that everyone has been swallowing karoake shows for so long, they have no taste for classic guitar sounds and rock ‘n’ roll. The only way you can listen to dance/rave music is by being on loads of drugs, in which case, no one needs to respect your opinion on music. The people who actually want to listen to albums will continue to buy Oasis records and everyone else can continue with whatever crap is most popular at the moment. Luckily for those of us who still listen, we won’t be embarrassed of our music collection in 3 years and won’t have to apologize to anyone.
Cheers.

“The only way you can listen to dance/rave music is by being on loads of drugs, in which case, no one needs to respect your opinion on music.”
That is incredibly, incredibly inaccurate. I don’t do drugs at all and I enjoy the shit out electronica/ dance music. Are you one of those pretentious brits who thinks their shit don’t stink?
Mm hmmm.

Writing “Mm hmmm” doesn’t prove a point. Maybe you wouldn’t be so irritable if you took some drugs. Just think about it, you might get more out of your music.

I get plenty out of music holmes, but I’d also like to live past 40, so…

Brits, pretentious? Not really mate. They had a sweet scene i’d say from 1960’s, to about mmm, 1990, with Happy Mondays, The Smiths, Throbbing Gristle, Beatles, Sex Pistols, New Order, great rave culture, great indie, great dance music. It has declined a little bit, their current music is not a “scene” that is timeless, but it’s better than the lightweight, merangue infused cheesecake electropop Shit-fi, stuff that currently is being put through it’s paces here in Canada. Trust me, the brits know good music, europe in general. Don’t feel bad brits, the stuff we have in Canada is much worse than your music.
I’m a mod, not a rocker.
