The Fashion

The Fashion released “Like Knives” in Denmark last year, and plan to release it worldwide sometime in 2008. Sony, however, hooked me up with a review copy, which was very cool, and after giving it a proper listen I have a couple of things to inform you about.

The first thing that came to mind when I heard the first couple of tracks was The Rapture, The Fashion and them have a very similar sound. One of the differences I noticed in The Fashion’s album was that they had a better consistency through-out. The Raptures latest album “Pieces of The People You Love” had a few good tracks on it, but The Fashion’s had more than a few.

The obvious songs such as “Like Knives”, “Solo Impala” and “Dead Boys” seem to be popular amongst other blogs, those are all good, but I’m going to take “Alabaster” as my personal favorite. It’s got a good vibe rolling with it, the “fuzzy feeling” vibe, I think you know what I’m talking about.

Moving on, the only thing I noticed “bad” in the album was sometimes the singer couldn’t quite hit some of the high notes that he wanted to, which made some parts sound a little off. Besides that I think it’s a really solid CD, there weren’t any dead spots and it gave me kind of feeling that makes every day feel like the weekend.

Look for the release later this year, but in the mean time, chew on some of these…

Loving The Fashion. The “Like Knives” intro has a Foals touch, it gets me up and shaking. A new favourite for now.
