Santogold + Switch = Mild Grooves

I know Santogold isn’t really new, but it’s newer to me so whatever. Anyway, I’m really feeling these chill rasta grooves on this Switch remix of “Shove It”. Switch throws down a nice mild groove, and I swear Santogold’s vocals kind of remind me of this timeless classic (god, this video is awesome).

The chorus “We think you’re a joke/Shove you hope where it don’t shine” is just hot fire. I’m not even sure what hot fire means, but it sounds pretty cool. It also doesn’t hurt that Spank Rock is on the track, even though his rhyme isn’t that memorable. Oh yeah, and the horns in this song are to die for.

I’m going to put up the other remix I have of her (by Switch & Graeme Sinden), even though I’m not as into it as “Shove It”. She is obviously going to be real hip in ‘08, and I’m cool with that if she continues to bro down with Switch, or anyone else awesome.
