I’ve been trying to figure out this song for two years. Claude VonStroke dropped it in his November Essential Mix and since then I’ve been trying to ID Robag Wuhme’s “Pelagia Nr.2″, the track that was beautifully laced under “DJ Koze Vs. Sid Lerock – Naked (DJ Koze Remix).” I’d also like to point out that the tracklist was wrong and stated “Robag Wruhme – Pelagia.” Just saying.
Kenneth Bager, head of Music For Dreams, is coming out with a new single called “I Can’t Wait” on Universal UK and Ultra Records in the US. He’s put together a nice little remix pack that includes reworks by Alex Metric, Jayou, LeoZero, Wookie and then some. Enjoy Alex Metric’s disco house infused remix as a treat and keep an eye out for the whole pack to drop in the coming months.
Chicago, you’re a bunch of lucky kids this Tuesday because Soundbar is being invaded by two of Hot Biscuits favorite groups. In case you didn’t know, that’s Jokers of The Scene and Acid Girls of course! These two have been posted so many times on this blog it would be irresponsible for us to not rep this even! They are both two of the best North American acts right now. Their remixes alone would be reason enough to go see them. However, when you factor in there amazing dj mixes posted on this very site along with countless other sites. You have no reason to miss this event! I repeat, do not miss this event.
So, get prepared to call in sick on Wednesday or skip school because this is being sponsored by Hornitos, a tequila (which I translate to “to kill ya”) brand. You will also be entertained by Mano, Hollywood Holt, Moneypenny and our very own Kid Color. I’m pretty jealous of you Chicagoans right now because I know this will be one of the best parties of the year. I will be in LA that night watching Radioclit, Adam12, Franki Chan, Paul Devro, and Major Taylor at there new party, The Main Event. So, I get an almost equal night of fun minus the free booze.
Anyway, We’ve included the mixtape that Acid Girls and Jokers of the Scene made to promote their tour which is comprised entirely of their own tunes and remixes. Oh, yeah don’t forget to rsvp @ http://www.urchicago.com/hornitos!

You can get a sense for what they’re all about by looking at the tracklist and giving the thing a whirl. Disco house lives and these bros rule! Now, I know I’m a tad late on this one, but I tried to make up for it by posting a couple more MP3’s than usual. Enjoy!

Thunderheist is a hipster ready, clubbed up R&B duo from Toronto. We’ve featured them on here before but it’s been a while since they’ve had something that made me want to dance as much as there track “Jerk It”. The original, which is in the video above, is something like an 8 bit version of a Dr. Dre track. However, It’s the remix that is really getting my attention.
This time it’s a fellow Canadian DJ/producer, Alias, who brings the heat and magic to his fantastic rework of “Little Booty Girls”. It’s equal parts sexy and hypnotic. It’s got the nicest little bounce blend of a faint horn, kick drums and hand claps. It’s exactly the type of thing that would warm up those Toronto dance floors as winter steadily approaches.
I was pretty jacked up for last nights Basement Jaxx DJ set, but I left extremely unsatisfied by their performance. I’d still highly recommend their new Scars album though, as their production is still “balling out of control.” I guess the one thing I did get from their unconvincing DJ Set was this very tasty remix of “Raindrops” by Funkagenda & Paul Thomas. I’d also like to point out that Modeselektor came correct last night.
The peeps at Nightshifters were kind enough to give us a free EP for Halloween and it definitely falls into the “treat” category. This is a perfect example of how Nightshifters is running the game right now by being a badass label but not letting that get to their heads. They stay grounded and appease their fans with treats like this EP.
The focus of the EP is a track from Japanese producer DJ Polstyle called “Vampire Killah.” It’s a sure fire club hit full of vocal yelps and organ stabs. The track then comes with four super dope remixes from DJ Donna Summers, Rob Threezy, Trumpdisco, and LOL Boys. I can’t tell you my favorite remix because I am biased. So, download them all, jam out and keep an eye on Nightshifters because they are releasing a new ep from Hostage soon.
The sun is shining and it’s perfectly warm outside. I tend to use these days of being unemployed and new in California to enjoy the weather with long bike rides on the beach. The kind of tunes I imagine would go well on my imaginary tugboat as I ride past the dock are bouncy dreamy disco ones. Well, I think Palmero Disko Machine must be tapping into my dreams, as his latest track, appropriately titled “Theme from Palmero Disco Machine”, is just the the type of music I imagine.
Filter-house God, Alan Braxe seems to of had the dream because he’s releasing the EP. It will be out by the end of this month and if you’re wondering who the hell Palmero Discko Machine is, well it’s Jens from Digitalism.
Bobby Analog is the motherfucking man when it comes to this disco house revival. His latest track “Break Addict” is the audio equivalent to a Friday night party. It really revs me up! It bangs hard and yet maintains a constant fresh feel. It very well could be the best thing that Thomas Bangalter never put out. This will easily next to your Duck Sauce, Strip Steve and Phantom’s Revenge mp3s. Download this with the quickness and play it loud!
